Who are Bettertax ?

Bettertax are tax refund specialists and work exclusively for Tradesmen. The idea behind the company was for us to assist guys in the trade with the recovery of overpaid tax, their business expenses and managing their dealings with HMRC. We’ve been lucky enough to establish great relationships within a number of trades in the construction industry; however, the Scaffs community is without doubt our strongest, with around 55 – 65% of our current client base being both on and off-shore Scaffolders. Around 95% of which, have come off the back of recommendations from you, your colleagues or friends in the industry.

We know that a lot of self-employed Tradesmen struggle to get their returns completed in time for a variety of different reasons and also that an incredible amount of PAYE guys still aren’t even aware that they were entitled to a refund. So we decided to pull together a group of people with a mix of experience and expertise in Accountancy, Tax, IT and the Construction industry to form Bettertax and develop our system…which from what others are saying, manages to out-perform our competition time and again.

Our relationship with Scaffolders goes beyond our returns & refund services. As you’re probably already aware, we’re valued sponsors to ScaffMag who produce this great publication as we are to the Scaffolders forum also. We’ve been made to feel very welcome by the Scaff community in a number of forums and various social networks; on which we’ve become regular trusted contributors and would like to think, friends, offering free advice & guidance to the guys, as and where we can, whether they’re a client of ours or not.

Over the last two and a half years, we’ve grown at a rate that none of us could have really anticipated. This growth has been completely organic with around 90% of our current clients coming through recommendations from other guys in the trade. Which I guess can only be testament to the belief they have in the quality of our service and the Bettertax system itself.
