JMAC Group consisting of JMac Scaffolding Ltd and JMac Safety Systems Ltd, has appointed Kieren Cattanach as Health, Safety, Environmental & Quality Manager.
The newly created role is set to strengthen JMAC’s commitment to promoting the best practise in Health and Safety, ahead of an exciting period of growth for the Teesside based group.
Prior to taking up this position, Kieren spent 8 years working as a Health & Safety manager within the industry for Tone Scaffolding followed by Alandale Scaffolding.
Kieren started off as a Scaffolder before moving on to focus his time with a career in H&S, he is NEBOSH qualified and a member of IOSH, Kieren has his PTLLS certification, and is also a mental health first aider, which is a main focus point in construction at this moment in time. Some of his key clients/projects have included working for Parliament in London, alongside the BBC for H&S assistance at the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan Markle, and also working at both Gatwick & Heathrow Airports during major development work.
Kieren has now returned to the North East and will be working closely with JMAC group MD Luis McCarthy and the JMac team as they look to further develop new processes, improve the safety culture, introduce more robust safe systems of work and assist in the future expansion of the JMAC group into new markets, keeping JMAC at the forefront of forward-thinking Scaffolding companies in the UK.
JMAC counts a team of 110 people across the group, which includes JMAC Scaffolding Ltd & JMAC Safety Systems Ltd. Currently, the group works with numerous blue-chip PLC clients from across the UK.
Commenting on his appointment, Kieren said: “I’m really excited to join JMAC. After working away from so many years, it’s great to be able to bring my knowledge and experience back to the North East. I’m keen to build up the accreditations such as NASC, Scaffold Association, RISQS, UVDB & FORS. I’d heard some great things about JMAC throughout my career, so when I was looking to come back to the North East it was the perfect opportunity.”
