Altrad Services has won more work at the site of the former Redcar Steelworks.

In a project partnership between Altrad and the South Tees Site Company, the firms are set to commence the environmental remediation of equipment at the site of the former Redcar Steelworks.

The work will involve the treatment and removal of contaminated waste to allow future redevelopment of the site and creating opportunities for future local industrial development.

Over the next two years, the project partnership will generate new job opportunities for the local community, some of which has already commenced, says Altrad.

Altrad Services Managing Director, Tony Jester said: “We are delighted to be working with the South Tees Site Company and local organisations such as Middlesbrough College to create job opportunities for the local Redcar and Cleveland area.

“Developing the land at the site of the former steelworks is a crucial part of the region’s redevelopment and will allow new industries to invest in the area, creating jobs for the future.”
