Two people were taken to hospital after being trapped beneath collapsed scaffolding in Streatham, south London, on Sunday 25 October.
London Fire Brigade said both had been rescued before its crews arrived at the incident on High Road. London Ambulance Service took them to hospital.
In a statement reported by This Is Local London via Yahoo News, the ambulance service said it was called at 13:30 and sent ambulance crews, an incident response officer and paramedics from its hazardous area response team. Two patients were treated at the scene before being taken to hospital.
The brigade received the first of five emergency calls at 13:31. Crews from Tooting, Lewisham, West Norwood and surrounding fire stations attended, and the incident was brought under control at 16:07.
In its incident update, the brigade confirmed that scaffolding had collapsed but did not state what caused it. It also did not identify the scaffolding contractor or give details of the two people’s injuries.
The Sun linked the collapse to Storm Boelo, although the emergency services’ statements did not confirm what caused the scaffolding to fall.
The official account does not establish whether the people involved were working at the site or passing nearby.
