Jersey Police are appealing for witnesses after the incident on Grande Route de la Côte in St Clement on Tuesday 21 July.

The truck was travelling along the coastal road between 12.45pm and 1.05pm when a ladder came off the vehicle and struck 2 pedestrians on the beach-side pavement near the Ambassador Hotel.

An adult woman and a child both suffered injuries.

Police said the driver is understood to have turned the vehicle around to check on the pair and recover the ladder.

The truck has been described as having a grey and red cab, with a red diagonal stripe across the front. It was carrying several scaffolding tubes on the rear.

Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or who may have information that could help their enquiries, to contact Jersey Police on 612612.

Information can also be given anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or through its online reporting service.
