Luton Council is preparing an estimated £11.04m scaffolding framework and will hold a supplier briefing next week ahead of a planned December tender.

The council wants to bring its scaffolding spending under one agreement, with the proposed programme running from April 2027 to April 2035.

A planning notice published on 27 October, reproduced by The Construction Index, sets out the procurement and invites contractors to a Meet the Buyer event on Tuesday, 3 November.

The online session starts at 1pm on Microsoft Teams. It will explain the council’s requirements and tender process, including how to access its procurement portal. Social value guidance and a question-and-answer session are also on the agenda.

The proposed framework covers scaffolding work, including erection and dismantling, in Luton. The council says consolidating its spending should help it secure better value.

The estimated £11.04m value excludes VAT. The notice identifies the opportunity as particularly suitable for small and medium-sized businesses.

The procurement remains at the market-engagement stage, with publication of the tender notice provisionally scheduled for 1 December 2026.

Contractors can find the Teams joining details in the published notice, under reference DN820034. The procurement is titled AT1471 – Scaffolding Framework.
