Southwark-based scaffolding contractor Hadley Southern Ltd is in administration.

Established in 1997 by the father and son team of Edward Champney Snr and Jnr, Hadley Southern carved a business for itself providing scaffolding for bridge and rail projects in the southeast, including stations at Maidstone West, Dartford and Tunbridge Wells and on Oxted Viaduct.

It also worked further afield. In July 2009, Hadley erected an inspection scaffold on the Royal Albert Bridge in Plymouth for Birse Rail.

Nedim Ailyan of Sidcup-based Abbott Fielding was appointed administrator on 20 October.
