European Federation of Powered Access

The European Federation of Powered Access (EFPA) is the leading pan-European trade association for the powered access industry, representing national associations, manufacturers, rental companies, and service providers of mobile elevating work platforms (MEWPs) and mast climbing work platforms (MCWPs) across Europe. Founded in 1990, EFPA brings together member organisations from countries across the European Union and beyond, providing a collective platform to address regulatory and legislative matters at a European level, promote safe working at height practices, and support the harmonisation of standards governing the manufacture, inspection, and operation of powered access equipment. The federation works closely with the European Commission, CEN (European Committee for Standardisation), and other regulatory bodies to represent the interests of the powered access industry in European standards development.

EFPA membership comprises national trade associations and industry stakeholders from across Europe, and the organisation facilitates cross-border co-operation on training standards, accident prevention, and industry statistics. The federation publishes annual market data on the European MEWP fleet and works to promote the safer use of powered access in preference to traditional access methods. EFPA also coordinates closely with IPAF and other global bodies to ensure that European powered access standards align with international best practice. Its influence on European Union working at height directives and product safety regulations makes it a significant body for any organisation involved in the manufacture, rental, or use of powered access equipment operating in European markets.
