Visitors to Chatsworth House in Derbyshire have been invited up into the scaffolding this summer to watch the building’s £14m restoration at close hand.

About 350 tonnes of metal currently surround the stately home as part of a year-long programme to return it to its majestic best.

The external stonework of Chatsworth is being cleaned, repaired and restored to reverse the effects of 300 years of weathering
