Job Brief:
We are looking for a competitive and trustworthy Sales Manager to help us build up our business activities in the Scottish region, based from our Glasgow depot.
Sales Manager responsibilities include discovering and pursuing new hire & sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining customer satisfaction. If you have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable reaching out to potential customers to demonstrate our services and products through face to face meetings, email and phone, we’d like to meet you.
The role reports into both the Depot Manager and Senior Management, and offers future development potential. The role has the core objective of looking after our existing client base while developing new customers and managing both these types of accounts to expand our levels of business while providing a high level of customer service.

Scaffolding Contractors
House Builders
Main Contractors
Civils Contractors
Industrial & commercial roofing contractors
Structures Contractors (RC, steel, timber)
FM companies
Industrial / Petro-Chemical Service Providers
Candidate:
Experience of the TRAD UK products is not necessarily a pre-requisite as full product training will be given. However experience of selling and/or hiring to the aforementioned type of contractors along with knowledge of the construction industry is essential; along with a proven track record in sales.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate customer needs
- Offer clients immediate assistance with any sales/ hire enquiries coming in directly to the depot, which is a very successful branch to date. This forms an important part of this role.
- Have a good knowledge of depots budgetary requirements and focus the sales team to areas of most need, whilst maintaining the momentum on other product groups.
- Work closely with all the sales staff to ensure all targets within the budget are understood, and help close gaps on items of slow moving stock.
- Ensure discounts and margin levels are being maintained / achieved.
- Conduct weekly catch up meetings with key depot staff.
- Actively seek out new opportunities through cold calling, networking and social media
- Set up meetings with existing and potential new clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
- Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
- Create reviews and reports with sales and financial data
- Ensure the availability of stock for sales and demonstrations
- Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences
- Negotiate/close deals and handle complaints or objections
- Collaborate with team members to achieve better results
- Gather feedback from customers or prospects and share with internal teams
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Sales Manager or relevant role
- Proficiency in English
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office
- Hands-on experience with CRM software is a plus
- Thorough understanding of marketing and negotiating techniques
- Fast learner and passion for sales
- Self-motivated with a results-driven approach
- Aptitude in delivering attractive presentations
