Job Opportunity: Standards Developer 2004
Location: Home-based (occasional travel to Peterborough or Inchinnan)
Type: Full-time, 2-year fixed-term contract
Salary: £36,000–£44,000 (Target: £41,200)
Closing Date: 25 April 2025 (11:55 PM)

What You’ll Do:
Join CITB’s Standards team and help shape the future of training in construction. You’ll be developing and maintaining essential standards that support qualifications and workforce competence. You’ll also manage projects, run working groups with industry experts, and make sure training and qualification standards stay relevant and up to date.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage projects from start to finish

  • Develop and maintain training and occupational standards

  • Work closely with stakeholders across the industry

  • Gain deep knowledge of training needs and qualification frameworks

What We’re Looking For:

Essential:

  • A-levels (or equivalent experience)

  • Project management qualification (PRINCE2, APM, etc.)

  • Good understanding of training and qualifications in construction

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Confident using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio)

Desirable:

  • Experience with quality systems (e.g., ISO9001)

  • Worked with construction stakeholders before

  • Technical writing skills

  • Knowledge of qualifications and apprenticeships in the UK

Important Notes:

  • You’ll need to attend in-person training during the first 3 months

  • Some travel and overnight stays will be required
