You will learn as you work and apply the academic skills gained at university immediately within the workplace. By attending a Graduate Apprenticeship course at the University one day per week, to study towards a BSc/BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 10) qualification for four years.

• Responsible for: The production of scaffold design schemes on a wide range of commercial and industrial scaffolding projects throughout the UK for Enigma Industrial Service Ltd.

Role Purpose:
We are currently hiring an Apprentice Scaffold Design Engineer to work within an existing team based in Glasgow. Reporting to the Design and Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for the production of scaffold design schemes on a wide range of commercial and industrial scaffolding projects throughout the UK.
The role is available for an immediate start where you will gain valuable site experience and integrate into the design team before attending university from September on a weekly day-release basis as part of a BSc/BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering Graduate Apprenticeship (SCQF Level 10) for four years.
Get paid while you learn with more than three-quarters of workplace learning counting towards your qualification so you can gain your degree faster. This graduate apprenticeship uses modern blended learning techniques and industry-led projects resulting in limited exam-based assessments.
Responsibilities
• Assist Lead Engineers in the production of engineered drawings using the latest AutoCAD and 3D software supported by calculation using structural analysis software.
• Ensure all design documentation is in accordance with the company procedures as well as relevant British and European Standards.
• Liaise both externally with client representatives and internally with company operations, QSHE and engineering in the production of designs.
• Management of design project deadlines and budgets.
• UK wide travel where required for site meetings and surveys.
• Compliance with company policies and procedures.
Knowledge, skills & experience
• Experience in AutoCAD beneficial.
• Experience in REVIT beneficial.
• Efficient written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient IT skills including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint

Minimum Qualifications/ Experience
GA Entry requirements:
• Scottish Highers:
Standard Entry Requirements: BCCC (90UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and plus National 5 Physics at B.
• A levels: CCC (96 UCAS Tariff points) including Maths and Physics.
• T levels: Full T Level with Grade P (A*-C) in relevant subject (96 Tariff points), plus GCSE English and Maths at C/5 or above.
• Irish Leaving Certificate: H3H3H3H4 including Maths and Physics.
• Foundation Apprenticeship/Modern Apprenticeship, HNC/HND: Level of entry and/or credit awarded being subject to the content of the programme.

Working hours
Typically, you’ll work office hours Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 16:30, 37.5 hours per week.
Salary & Rewards
Basic Salary: £15000 to £24000
Management Tier: 4
Pension: up to an 8% contributory by Company / Employee or equivalent AE Pension

Holidays: 25 Annual + 8 Days Bank Holiday
