TRAD UK are looking for a hardworking, reliable and trustworthy HGV Driver to join our successful Glasgow depot operation, covering the Scottish region. 

The responsibilities of this role involve the delivering and uplifting loads of our scaffolding and safety product ranges from our clients’ premises / sites, along with assisting the Yard Operatives in booking back into stock returns from our hire fleet while servicing our client’s requests. Although not essential (as full product training will be given), ideally the candidate would have worked within the scaffolding/construction industries, or have similar experience. 

The role reports directly to the Yard Manager and ultimately to the Depot Manager and  Assistant Depot Manager, and has the core objective of looking after our customers’ requirements by loading / unloading their orders in a friendly, safe and timely manner.

TRAD UK’s core customer base is as follows:

  • House Builders
  • Main Contractors
  • Civils Contractors
  • Industrial & commercial roofing contractors
  • Structures Contractors (RC, steel, timber)
  • FM companies
  • Scaffolding Contractors

Candidate

As previously mentioned, experience of the TRAD UK products are not necessarily a pre-requisite, as full product training will be given. However, experience of transport / yard / warehouse operations, along with knowledge of the scaffolding and construction industries is preferable, along with the ability to work diligently and respectfully within a team.

Lorry Mounted Crane experience (Category C Vehicles and above only) is preferable but not necessary, as training can be given. In addition, it would be advantageous but, again not necessary, to possess a licence to operate a counter-balance forklift truck, to assist loading/unloading their vehicle at our premises.

Experience / Driving Licence:

  • Full Category C (or CE) UK Driving Licence
  • Driver CPC (preferred)
  • Driving a Goods Vehicle: 1 year (preferred)
  • Driving: 1 year (essential)

Core Responsibilities

  • Deliver and uplift scaffolding and construction safety products from our clients’ premises / sites
  • Assist the yard operatives in loading / unloading their vehicles and preparation  of said loads so they can be transported safely to current regulations / TRAD UK procedures and policies.
  • Keep vehicle in a clean and tidy state
  • Working in a safe manner to TRAD UK’s policies / procedures and current legislation
  • Communicate with clients and colleagues alike in a well-mannered and courteous way

Remuneration Package

  • Full-time, Permanent
  • Competitive Salary dependant on experience 
  • Company Pension Scheme
  • Core Hours are day shift, 08.00 to 17.00 Monday to Friday, but must be flexible and able to work over-time at short notice.  Weekend work maybe required when necessitated by business needs, while being essential to assist in the company’s twice yearly stock checks
