Job Title: Working at Height Inspector
Report to: HSEQ Manager
Summary
You will play a key role in ensuring that JMAC sites, yards, and working at height (WAH) installations remain safe and compliant with Work at Height Regulations 2005, industry guidelines, our company RAMS, and our HSEQ policies and procedures. The Work at Height Inspector will work as part of the JMAC HSEQ Team, independent from the operations teams, and will report directly to the HSEQ Manager.
This role is focused on improvement, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, and implementing solutions. The Work at Height Inspector will need to identify areas for enhancement and help resolve any concerns raised.
Summary of duties include:
· Workplace Safety: Maintain a safe workplace by ensuring all activities comply with HSEQ policies, procedures, and legislative and industry requirements.
· Relationships: Develop and maintain proactive and positive relationships with all key stakeholders and within JMAC.
· Coordination: Coordinate with all departments on day-to-day work.
· Compliance: Ensure WAH installations and yards comply with industry guidelines and any bespoke designs/manufacturer instructions.
· Inspections: Complete WAH monitoring, statutory inspections, and pre- and post-handover inspections, ensuring inspection tags are updated and have the correct information.
· Dismantle Certificates: Issue WAH dismantle certificates as and when required.
· Asset Management Audits: Perform asset management audits on site and within JMAC premise (Scaff Steps / Harness and Lanyards to name a few)
· Daily/Weekly Inspections: Conduct daily/weekly WAH inspections as directed by the HSEQ Manager/department.
· Monthly Reports: Provide a monthly report to the HSEQ Manager on recurring findings, including pictures and suggested plans for improvement.
· Toolbox Talks and Training: Conduct toolbox talks and training on-site with the operational team to help prevent recurrence of issues and to continually improve company culture.
· Harness and Lanyard Inspections: Complete harness and lanyard inspections on-site and in the office, ensuring compliance with PUWER regulations.
· Accident Investigation / Reporting: Respond to minor accidents, incidents, and near misses, producing a basic report of findings and establishing the root cause.
· Remedial Works: Conduct small remedial works to allow handovers of WAH installations on-site, ensuring these actions are noted and described in all reports.
· Administrative Procedures: Complete all administrative procedures related to the above tasks, ensuring reports are detailed and factual, in line with work at height regulations, company policy, and industry guidelines.
· Continual Improvement: Actively promote continual improvement.
· Support: To advise Line manager about possible future service / inspection needs to make sure that all resources are actively planned and managed.
Training: Deliver both in-house and external training, which may include FASET Platform Decking training or internal company training such as SG4/TG20, among others.
· Duties: Undertake any other duties as may reasonably be expected within the scope and skill of the post and as required by line management.
What experience do you need?
· CISRS card must remain valid at all times during employment.
· CISRS Advanced Inspectors card must remain valid at all times during employment.
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Basic Scaffolder or in a similar role.
· Good working knowledge of IT
· A full clean driving license
· Health and Safety Awareness (HSEQ qualifications is desirable)
· First Aid qualification
· Has proven experience in a similar role, ideally with experience in logistics, construction, scaffolding (preferably Layher or tubes and fittings but not essential)

Normal Working Hours:
07:30 until 16:30, some flexibility is required on start and finish times according to the needs of the business, the yard is open 7 Days per week (If required)

Pay: £45,000.00 per year
