12 workmen were injured after the 10 story high scaffolding collapsed in Taichung China.

The accident happened during rush hour on the Splendor Hotel, Firemen and rescue workers rushed to scene and sealed off the road.

Government officials suspended the construction work on the site until increased safety measures are put in place.

Officials said the collapse of huge scaffolding could have been caused by strong winds that shook the scaffolding and heavy anti-dust plastic sheets on the scaffolding.

The investigations into the incident will continue.
