A boss of a Glasgow scaffolding firm and his employee have been wounded after being caught up in an early morning gun attack.

The shooting took place yesterday morning (12 January) while the men were taking a break in their truck outside a busy city store in Tollcross, Glasgow Scotland.

The unidentified gunman fled the area immediately after the incident. Emergency services attended the scene at 7.40am after three men aged 28, 31 and 55 were attacked, reports The Daily Record.

The 28-year-old and the 55-year-old were rushed to Glasgow Royal Infirmary where they were treated for injuries. The 31-year old man who was also in the truck escaped injury.

Both victims have since been released from hospital.

Police Forensic officers immediately locked down the area around the scaffolding company truck to begin an investigation.

Detective Chief Inspector Peter Sharp at Greater Glasgow CID said yesterday: “This was a completely dangerous and reckless act which resulted in two men receiving medical treatment.

“We are still trying to establish a motive for this incident and a team of officers are conducting CCTV and local enquires to try and gain further information and identify the person or persons involved.

“There is an increased police presence in the area and I urge anyone with information or any concerns to speak to the officers who will be happy to assist.

“Anyone who was in the vicinity of Tollcross Road around 7.40 am this morning or anyone who may have driven past at this time and may have captured the incident on their dash cam is asked to contact police at Shettleston via telephone number 101 quoting incident number 0507 of 12 January, 2021.

“Alternatively calls can be made via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where anonymity can be maintained.”
